Clinicopathological Evaluation of Metastatic Carcinomas of Bone Marrow Presenting as Cytopenia

Background – Metastatic carcinomas can involve bone marrow and may lead to subsequent fibrosis failure. The Bone examination is important in patients diagnosed or on chemotherapy for cancer, who presented with peripheral cytopenia. metastasis of by these tumors a sign advanced stage disease poor prognosis.
 Methods Our study retrospective study, which we reviewed total 702 procedures, out 118 procedures done diagnosis cancer as cytopenia Great Eastern Medical College Hospital during period 10 years.
 Result In our 74 males 44 females. Peripheral smear cases - 24 32 (75%) anemia, was the commonest clinical presentation. Others were, thrombocytopenia 18 (50%), bleeding manifestations (31.2%), Pancytopenia 9 (28.1%), bi-cytopenia 4 (12.5%). During this period, among malignancies reported histopathology, show metastasis. 17.1% were carcinoma breast, 25% stomach 33.3% prostate urinary bladder, 23.5% SCC lung, 0% Cervix, all Ewing’s sarcoma, neuroblastoma poorly differentiated metastasis.
 
 Conclusion valuable tool staging hematologic nonhematological disease, well assessment overall cellularity, pattern involvement metastatic carcinomas.
